ERICA HARTLEY (SHE/HER)
Artistic Director
Erica is a London based composer, playwright, director and music director.
Erica founded Work In Progress Theatre in 2020 and has written/co-written two of the company's productions (Dinner with Gatsby, Where the Bees Fly)
Outside of Work In Progress, Erica is studying for a Masters in composition at King’s College London and works as a composer, orchestrator and dance teacher on a freelance basis.

JOSHUA CLAYTON (HE/HIM)
Executive Director
Joshua is a Producer and Freelance Musician known for his passion for delivering high-quality projects, strategy planning, and organizational development. He specializes in the production and administration of new musical theatre, festivals, and live events, bringing a diverse portfolio of experience and knowledge to his work, ranging from technical roles and workshop facilitation to music direction and stage management. As an advocate for addressing systemic flaws in the arts industry, he is dedicated to building frameworks that promote change and is enthusiastic about guiding strategy planning and fostering organisational growth within the industry.

ARCHIE ALEXANDER (HE/THEY)
Music Supervisor & Director
Archie Alexander is a composer, director and performer based in North Wales. Whilst studying at university they found their calling as a contemporary classical and theatre composer. Archie’s recent work includes collaborating with Erica Hartley and Joe Ash to write ‘Dinner With Gatsby’ as well as a number of original chamber ensemble and orchestral pieces. Archie looks over the musical output of the company, including performances and written materials.

MIA COSS (THEY/THEM)
Production Manager
Mia is a stage and production manager based in North Wales and the Midlands. They grew up performing in amateur productions but began working backstage during their time at university.
They enjoy working in all areas of the behind the scenes management of shows and also have experience in publicity and marketing, directing, producing and video editing. They are currently also stage managing multiple university productions.
Mia helps manage the production side of the company from pre-production to performance, this includes ensuring safe and efficient rehearsals, organising lighting and sound, and costume, prop and set management.

EMILY PEARCE (SHE/HER)
Creative Assistant
Emily is an actor and director based in North Wales and South Wales. She is currently studying her undergraduate in Film Studies with Theatre and Performance, where she found her love for directing and behind the stage work.
She is excited to do a bit of everything from costuming to writing, directing to producing. She also has experience in videography and editing.
Her most recent experience was directing a university production of Peter Pan.
Alongside our core team of staff involved in running the company, we also have a brilliant group of creatives who work with us on developing shows. Whether that's our set and costume designers, our technical department, or our mentors; we couldn't function without the teams behind the scenes who support us in our journey from page to stage.
